IMRE REDAI MD FRCA
In Memory

Dr. Redai was a graduate of the University Medical School of Debrecen in Hungary. He started his anesthesia training in his alma mater in Hungary, then continued at Kettering General Hospital and the Magill Department of Anesthesia at the Chelsea and Westminster Hospital in the United Kingdom, and completed it at Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center in New York. Imre spent most of his career as faculty at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons. He traveled with Shahid since 2002 on surgical missions to Ecuador and Bangladesh. Imre also traveled to Guatemala, Ghana, the West Bank, India, and Nicaragua on medical missions. We lost our dear friend Imre in June 2014. Imre was responsible for training many of the anesthesiologists who participate on our missions to Bangladesh. Imre personally has provided anesthesia to thousands of children on medical missions spanning over a decade. He was our great friend, our brother. Imre will always be missed, but his legacy endures with every child Smile Bangladesh cares for.
